Our Team conducted capacity-building programs in Tarawa, Kiribati, with a diverse group of enforcement officers, legal minds, policymakers, and frontline regulators focused on consumer protection. The sessions covered everything from handling complaints and inspections to price control, ESG integration, and identifying greenwashing, all grounded in practical exercises, peer learning, and real-life case simulations.

With participants from the Business Regulatory Centre, Ministry of Tourism, Commerce, Industry & Cooperatives, Kiribati Chamber of Commerce, Police, and Customs, the training reflected a whole-of-society approach to regulation—where enforcement meets education and policy meets people.

This program was co-funded by PACER Plus and supported by the team at ESG Pacific, who introduced emerging frameworks on responsible business and environmental accountability. The conversations around consumer rights were layered with an understanding of fairness, dignity, and sustainable development—values that resonate deeply across the Pacific.

What stood out most was not just the content, but the confidence gained by participants. The ability to investigate, mediate, write reports, and design communication campaigns wasn’t simply taught—it was practiced and internalized.

There’s something powerful about bringing people together, not just to learn, but to lead.

And when the right guidance, context, and conviction align… institutions grow stronger, and so does trust in them.
